For a fish to count towards points, trophies, or jackets it must be caught within the boundaries.

Fishing boundaries are as follows:
Pacific Ocean Waters Northerly limit from a line west from Point Conception following 34° 27".00 North Lat. just above the city of Santa Barbara and the southerly limit is 31 ° 00".00 North Lat. that intersects the coast line at Punta Colnett, Mexico, 53 nautical miles South of Ensenada. The westerly limit is a line running north and south following 122° 00".00 Longitude 230 nautical miles west of Oceanside
